bad_breath.jpg Bad breath is a growing problem in all social circles. A person may be attractive, but if that person has bad breath, it can mean disaster for any potential relationships. You hear stories all the time how just one attribute can ruin a great date, or even a marriage! Just ask the man with the hairy back. Or the woman with underarm odor. Or the long-legged teen with a mustache. Or the attractive model

that snores. Yes, these things do matter. Do not let bad breath be your downfall. Start doing something about it now.

Tongue cleaning has been a solution for many generations and spans many cultural civilizations. Many consider the tongue as a measuring stick as to how clean you are overall. In some societies, doctors and laypersons will ask you to open your mouth to observe the surface of your tongue. If the tongue has lumps or bumps, many different colors, coatings, or anything that does not give the appearance of a healthy, pink tongue, then you may be categorized as someone "unclean" and in need of treatment.

How to eliminate bad breath.

It has been proven that the simplest treatment to get rid of the bad smell is to clean your tongue. Most people believe that all that is required is to use a toothbrush and brush it a couple of times after you brush. Though it is better than not brushing your tongue at all, using a toothbrush does a rather poor job of removing the foul-odor causing bacteria positioned in the far back of the tongue.

Why people don't clean it.

The bacteria that causes bad breath hide far back on the surface of the tongue. The problem most people have is that they are afraid to reach that far back. What they fear is initiating the gag reflex. Though it is possible to gag yourself, it is still a requirement to precisely remove the bacteria in the far reaches of the tongue.

The other reason why people don't clean their tongue is because nobody told them to. Since most dentists and dental hygienists concentrate on treating cavities or missing teeth, they sometimes fail to educate the importance of keeping the tongue clean. They usually do not recommend any particular product and only go so far as to tell the patient to "brush their tongue."

Finding a tongue cleaner.

The best tongue cleaner has the following attributes: one-handed, small head, cleansable, and long-lasting. In order to reach where you need to clean, a small head is required so you can see what you are cleaning and still avoid the sides and back of the throat, avoiding the gag reflex. The head also has to be made out of a material that is strong to last a long time and is easy to clean. The last thing you want is to buy something that is difficult to clean - you want something that rinses off hands-free by placing it under a running faucet.

Bad breath has a quick and easy fix if you take the time to purchase a good tongue cleaner and, most importantly, use it. It only requires literally 2-5 seconds of your time per day and can save you the embarrassment of people ending relationships with you just because of your bad breath.
